Busy day!
We began today with a full school assembly. Congratulations to Connor and Martina for receiving assembly awards. Connor got his for being an Absolutely Brilliant Worker for working hard at staying focussed and doing his best to finish work. Martina got hers for Communicating Effectively by using lots of expression when reading.
It was also Wheels Day. Children could bring their bikes, scooters, roller skates and skateboards to school for a gold coin donation. This was to raise money for the Purua team camps.
I've just got home from dancing at the Otakaro team disco. Everyone did a fabulous job at dressing up as their favourite book character...can you guess who I went as? Maybe you can find me in the following photos.

Jelly and Ice Cream!
Most of you know that in Room 10 we have a reward system where the children have to make their way around a treasure map. Each time a child is caught doing something positive they get to move their pirate picture along the coloured stages of the treasure map. When they get to the X then they earn some treasure for the classroom. Once the class has earned 20 pieces they can have a reward.
Today Room 10 had their first reward. They chose to have jelly and ice cream for pudding! Yum! Yum!
I wonder what the next reward will be?

We Care
Most of you know that Wairakei School have launched a new 'vision' which has 5 aspects of being an Absolutely Brilliant Wairakei Learner. One of these aspects is "we care". A wee while ago Room 10 got together with their buddy classroom (Room 6) and created this video depicting the many ways we care. Enjoy!
Maths Games
On Wednesday afternoon we decided to spend some time playing maths games. This was a good idea because some of us didn't know how to play all of our games. We got into pairs and rotated around each game. What a lot of fun!
