Student Teacher

A big welcome to Mr Joshua Halkett who is joining us for seven weeks. Mr Halkett comes from the Graduate School of Education and is on his first placement.

He tells me that he has had an awesome first week in Room 10. Yay! We hope you enjoy the rest of your time at Wairakei School.

Here he is playing 'shops' with Daniel.

Vision Launch

In the first week of the term we launched our absolutely brilliant new Wairakei School Vision. One aspect of our vision is called WE CARE. We made the following movie with our buddy class (Room 6) about what WE CARE is all about.

Days to celebrate

Custom Glitter Text
As it was a wet day today, we decided to make the most of the extra time and make Valentine Cards. Hope you liked yours!

Some birthdays this week too!

Custom Birthday Card
We would also like to welcome Mr Halkett to Room 10. Mr Halkett is from the Christchurch Graduate School of Education...which means he is learning to be a teacher! We look forward to having Mr Halkett in Room 10 for the next seven weeks. Photo coming!

Mr Bojangles

Mr Bojangles has been to a few homes already. He even had to be rescued from Kody's big dog called Kage one morning!

Rosie took him home on Tuesday night and had a lot of fun playing dress ups with him. Check out the slideshow made by Rosie and her parents!

2012

Joshua and the Irish Rugby Team

Joshua was lucky enough to be ball boy for Ireland in last night's RWC match against Italy.

Good on you Joshua! I think you might have been very nervous to be ball boy in front of all those people!

Here is a video of his efforts. A big thank you to Philippa Brocklehurst (Itinerant Music teacher at Wairakei) for giving me the recording. Much appreciated!

(actually...am having some technical problems uploading the movie...hopefully I can sort this out asap).
