We remember...

Today was the anniversary of last years big earthquakes on February 22nd.

Like a lot of other Cantabrians we decorated our orange cones with flowers.

As a class we talked about the anniversary and swapped stories about where we were at the time of the earthquakes.  Some children remembered being on the monkey bars, on the flying fox, and others remember  still being in the lunch area eating their lunch.

We talked about how scary it was, our feelings, and we agreed that we felt safe at school because there are people around who can help us if it happens again.

At lunch time some of the children joined me at 12.51pm under the big Oak Tree to observe the 2 minute silence, a wee chat and some reassurance.
