Earthquake!

To the students and families of Room 10, Wairakei School, I hope you and your families are safe. School is closed until next Monday 13th September.

Our school production has been postponed until mid-term 4.

I know some parents are concerned about leaving their child(ren) at school on Monday, and that some children may be frightened about being separated from their parents. We will be starting the day with some news telling (this will be a good time for chidlren to share their experiences of the earthquake with each other). Parents are welcome to stay until they feel comfortable about leaving their child at school. :)

Keep safe, and make sure you give each other lots of cuddles. See you on Monday.

A big hug from Miss O'Neill :)

  1. Hello everyone in Room 10! Casey and her family hope that you are all ok. I felt the BIG earthquake but Casey and Rylee slept through it. We do not feel any aftershocks down here either.
Casey has been busy working on a letter to send to you, we will hopefully send it and some photos by the end of this week so should reach you by the time school goes back.

Keep safe, we miss you and are thinking of you all =)

  3. Hi Lisa, Casey and Rylee, it is so lovely to hear from you. Things are settling down up here. I have contacted everyone in Room 10 and it sounds like everyone is safe. Can't wait for you letter!

Shougo...don't worry about the QEII visit. Mrs Pringle has been an angel and we are now going in the last week of the term. Yay!

    Stay safe!
